Create a Storyboard

The students created a storyboard and animatic for the first act where we meet their character in their ‘ordinary’ world, and an inciting incident occurs which sets them off on their journey.  The storyboard panels must convey a coherent narrative, therefore clarity of both plot and character set up are pivotal.  The panels were completed through the production pipeline process. Working in a coherent, appealing and consistent style, and remaining on-model, is a big challenge in bringing the panels of sequential art together.  The storyboard panels were then turned into an animatic where timing was an important part of communicating the pace and emotion or energy of the story.
