The Animation School Shines At The Loeries With 5 Student Film Awards

The Animation School is proud to announce a major achievement at The Loeries 2025, where five of our student 
short films received top honours in the Student - Online Film, Short Film & Music Videos category.

Competing against some of the best creative talent across Africa and the Middle East, our students brought home 
an impressive two Gold and three Silver awards – a testament to their talent, teamwork and storytelling 
innovation.

Each of these award-winning films is the product of our rigorous year-long capstone project for final year 
students. These films not only highlight the creativity and technical skill of our students, but also reflect the high 
industry standards that The Animation School is known for.

What Happens In Your Final Year

Final-year students collaborate in teams to produce original 3D animated short films. Students specialise in asset production, look development, rigging, animation and compositing.

The project spans three major phases:

• Pre-production – developing the concept, visual style, and storyboards
• Production – bringing the story to life through 3D modelling, texturing, surfacing, rigging, animation and lighting.
• Post-production - finalising and packaging the film through rendering, adding effects, compositing, editing, 
  sound design and scoring
